Overview

A picturesque hill station known as "Little England" due to its cool climate and colonial charm. Blessed with a cool, crisp alpine climate, it was established by the British in the 19th century as a sanatorium and retreat. The city retains much of its colonial-era charm, featuring Tudor-style mansions, beautifully manicured lawns, a historic golf course, and endless rolling hills carpeted in vibrant green tea bushes.

  • Bomuru Ella ( Water Fall ): a beautiful watter located 12 kilometers away from the city with 30 minutes walk through.

  • Sitha Amman Kovil: A religious temple near by to city, mainly of hundu people.

  • Ambewela Farm: A diary and poultry farm located while you are going to Hortan Plains, which is with amazing mountain views.

  • Ramboda Ella ( Water Fall ): Another beautiful water fall located up in the mountains with a half of kilometers climb, while you are coming to Nuwara Eliya
