Overview

Located in the heart of the Cultural Triangle, Dambulla is an ancient crossroads famous for hosting the largest and most exceptionally preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Towering over the surrounding plains, these sacred rock caves have been a center of Buddhist pilgrimage for over 22 centuries, filled with mesmerizing murals and dozens of statues.
Today, Dambulla also serves as a major commercial hub, housing the island's largest wholesale produce market
